Tips
Sounds
First of all you need a good sound recorder, which means that you can record in stereo format. It is easier if you can record in mp3 format. Look up if it’s possible to have this setting in the recorder. Choose the best quality for mp3, which means highest bitrate as possible.
If recording outside, cover the microphone if it is windy or you sounds will be muffled.
Pictures
Before taking pictures, set the date and time on your digital camera. When you download your pictures, it will help you organise them in chronological order.
PowerPoint
When building your student’s activity on PowerPoint, the student may find it useful to:
- have the last slide blank or with ‘the end’ being recorded so he/she knows the work is finished’
- have a sound cue to indicate it is time for the next slide
- have a recording saying ‘turn to page 2’ etc...as a prompt
Do adapt the work to the pupil’s individual and unique needs.
Saving and storing your work on the computer.
Remember to save your work systematically as you produce it, maybe every 3 slides.
Store your work in an obvious part of your computer, for example, the desktop in the pupil’s own file.
